It’s hard to fully encapsulate the strength of the positive feeling I have towards Dr Rory and his team in a single review. Six months ago, after seven years of continued but slow weight loss, I had an abdominoplasty and abdominal reconstruction (a tummy tuck in general terms). At the initial consultation, which took place around 4 months before my surgery, Dr Rory confirmed I was a suitable candidate for the surgery. I decided to wait a little to make sure it was the right choice for me, and to ensure I was at my goal weight, which involved losing a final few kg. In the week before my surgery, I had all my bloods and pre-op tests and checks. On the day of the surgery, I went in early doors, had my final check in with Dr Rory, and the team prepped me. You’re under before you know it, and you wake up with all the effects of the anaesthetic, and with some restriction in movement. The daily follow ups over the coming 1-2 weeks were thorough and effortless - dressings changed regularly and the wounds checked thoroughly. Nurses Karissa and Queenie were absolutely wonderful - I can’t begin to explain how easy and smooth they made each visit. There’s a reason both they and Dr Rory are seen as best in class. The path to recovery was thankfully relatively uncomplicated for me, but is always different for each patient - follow their guidelines and instructions to the letter (you’ll thank yourself later). Overall, the experience has been nothing short of life changing. The difference in how I look at myself in the mirror and how I think about myself feels like it’s changed my brain chemistry. A metaphorical weight after the weight loss, which I didn’t even realise was there, has been lifted from my shoulders. I can’t thank Dr Rory and the team enough for giving me that for the first time in my life.

I would definitely recommend Dr Rory. I had surgery in October and cannot fault the process. From initial enquiry to being signed off. Everyone is extremely helpful and puts you at ease, which is something I needed as I was anxious. The team and Dr Rory have a real natural way of putting you at ease and making you feel very relaxed. If I ever needed anymore surgery and Dr Rory does it, I would definitely book in with him and his team again.
