As someone deeply involved in high performance motorcycle riding and (MotoGP)style racing, the condition, strength, and functionality of my hands are extremely important to both my career and daily life. Last year, after a serious riding injury, I underwent an extensor tendon transplant surgery on my left hand with Dr. Robert Hierner. From the very first consultation until the final stages of recovery, Dr. Hierner personally handled everything with incredible professionalism and care. What truly stood out was not only his surgical precision and expertise, but also the way he supported and motivated me throughout the recovery process. He understood exactly how important full hand performance and mobility were for me as a rider, and thanks to his work, my recovery exceeded expectations and allowed me to regain confidence again. Unfortunately, after another racing-related crash this year, I suffered a major injury to my right hand, including severe burns from the tarmac along with tendon damage requiring complex reconstruction surgery for my finger. Without hesitation, I trusted Dr. Hierner and his team once again for my treatment and surgery. Going through intensive hand reconstruction is physically and mentally challenging, especially for someone whose passion and lifestyle depend so much on hand function, but Dr. Hierner’s calm approach, confidence, precision, and constant support have once again given me strong belief in the recovery process. I am currently recovering and hoping to come back stronger very soon, and I can honestly say I’m grateful to be under the care of such an exceptional surgeon. This review concerns a paid consultation I had with Dr. Hierner regarding scar revision. I was seeking advice for some rather large scars from a body lift procedure I had done previously. From the start, I found him to be rude, arrogant, and condescending. He was speaking to me as if I were stupid. At one point, he even asked me why I would "ruin my body" with my prior procedure. I can understand critiquing a surgeon's work, but his comment was not kind, helpful, or constructive. No matter his apparent skillset, I would never receive treatment from a doctor with such a poor bedside manner.

I feel so blessed to have come across Dr. Robert, his bedside manners are absolutely above and beyond! He takes the time to explain and clarify any questions or concerns one has about the procedure clearly and concisely. He also provides advice in the best interest of the patient. I’m very happy and satisfied being in his care. Hard to find doctors like him nowadays that take time to inform patients to the best of his ability! Lovely experience!
