I cut my hair about a week ago. I asked for a shoulder length, soft layered Japanese style cut. But as you can see in the photo, it turned out nothing like what I asked for. The photos of me in the purple shirt were taken just 5 minutes after leaving the salon. Even with the fresh styling, it didn’t look anything like the references I showed. Instead of soft layers, the hairdresser gave me high layers that created a sharp, choppy look, which made my already thin hair look even flatter. Without styling, it looks even messier. I was really upset after the haircut. I told her it doesn’t look like the photos, but she insisted it was the same. I didn’t want to push it further since it was already done. But, please, if you're not confident in doing a certain style, or you’re unsure, please be honest and communicate with your customer. Don’t just go ahead and cut without checking. Now I have to wait at least a month or two for my hair to grow out a bit so I can fix this. And honestly, the whole experience felt cold. None of the staff were friendly, no one smiled or even greeted me. Communication was minimal. I really tried to stay polite and smile most of the time, even though I was uncomfortable. Just really disappointed overall.

The team at Freya was very friendly, but the result was disappointing. I asked for a glossing to turn my blonde tips into a soft ‘bronde’ for a smooth transition to my natural root color. Instead, my hair turned very dark with a green-grayish shine – no soft transition. Darker would have been fine, but the shade I left with was simply not flattering.

I do NOT recommend this place. 👎🏻 I’m only now updating this review because of the amount of views it’s gotten, and I realized I never shared my REAL experience at Freya. They ask you to leave a review right after your appointment, and when you show it to them, they give you a small gift. That’s why I did it at first, and tbh I was happy with the result at that moment. My nails looked really nice and pretty as they look in the photo. The salon is decent, and the staff is friendly. The price is on the higher side. However ALL my nails (literally every single one) completely fell off the very next day. I let them know and they told me to come back so they could fix them, but I couldn’t due to my schedule (I only get one day off a week) and obviously, if I make an appointment for a manicure and spend almost 2 hours sitting there, I expect the result to be final and long-lasting, which should be normal when you’re paying for this kind of service. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I live in JVC and I would never go back. It was a complete waste of money. Ashyme did my nails, and I’m not sure if the problem was poor technique or cheap materials, but it’s unbelievable that they all fell off the very next day.

I had such a wonderful experience with Carly! She was incredibly gentle and patient throughout the entire appointment, which made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. She took the time to explain everything to me in detail and I loved the end result. I highly recommend her!

Love it at Freya so much - def recommend! This is the 3rd time I’ve been back as I love the way they style my hair and the service is always 10/10, the staff are so lovely and vibes are perfect. 💛 (Cut, style, blow dry, very natural tape extensions!)
