Extremely disappointing and distressing consultation with Dr. Madhava Rao, Specialist Ophthalmologist I am a physician myself, and I accompanied my 80-year-old father, a frail elderly man with bilateral cataracts, to see Dr. Madhava Rao at Al Abeer Medical Center. We were genuinely considering proceeding with cataract surgery with him on a cash basis. Unfortunately, the consultation was deeply upsetting. Dr. Rao was impatient, dismissive, and appeared to have very little tolerance for my father’s questions or concerns. When my father asked for clarification, Dr. Rao said: “You have asked me this question two times before, and I have answered you.” He also told us, “It is simple. Why did you make it complicated?” We were asking perfectly reasonable questions about the surgery and the post operative expectations because my father wanted to make an informed decision. What is routine for a specialist may understandably feel complicated and important to an elderly patient. The situation then escalated. Dr. Rao looked at me and said, “I don’t like your expressions.” He then said, “You choose your doctor, and I will choose my patients too.” He stood up, left the consultation room before the consultation was finished, and told the staff, “Cancel everything.” This was an extremely unprofessional and disrespectful way to treat an elderly patient and his family. My father was so affected by the encounter that he became visibly distressed and later explained himself to the clinic manager, saying that he was an educated man and had simply wanted to understand more about his operation. He left feeling humiliated and anxious, despite having been previously calm about undergoing cataract surgery. Clinical expertise should never come at the expense of empathy, patience, communication, and basic respect. An 80-year-old patient asking questions about eye surgery deserves to feel heard and reassured—not dismissed or humiliated. This consultation completely changed my father’s attitude toward surgery and left our family profoundly disappointed. We came seeking specialist care and trust, but unfortunately left with a very different impression of the doctor’s attitude and professionalism. Dalia

Worst experience ever! I took my son for an eye allergy - his eyes were completely swollen. Despite having a prior appointment, we were made to wait for a very long time, even though there was no patient inside the doctor's cabin. The entire process was extremely slow and lethargic. The doctor did not seem competent enough. She was unable to diagnose the issue properly and took a long time, and couldn't answer our queries even after asking multiple times. They don't have proper pediatric equipment for eye checkups. They also charged extra for diagnostics without actually performing any tests. It was shocking to see the assistant explaining the problem to the doctor herself. Please be very careful before visiting them.

Dr. Fatima is such a kind, generous, and caring doctor. She listens patiently, explains everything clearly, and makes you feel comfortable and well cared for. Truly a wonderful doctor and a beautiful person. Highly recommended! ❤️

I had a very good experience at the Medical Center Day Surgery. The staff were professional, friendly, and caring throughout my visit. I would especially like to appreciate Dr. Suman, General Practitioner, for being very kind, patient, and professional. Dr. Suman listened carefully to my concerns, explained everything clearly, and made me feel comfortable and well cared for. Thank you to Dr. Suman and the entire team for providing excellent service and patient care. I highly recommend this medical center. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
